An up-close picture of my rather Victorian dress, an extremely lucky thrift-store find.
I proudly present our Hallowmas pair costume!
I am dressed as my character, “the Sociable Academic,” headed for a Neathy masquerade ball disguised as a secret-bearing black cat. My friend Alex @teethedfreak (they/them) is dressed as their character of mysterious and indistinct gender, “Clever,” off to the same ball, dressed as a very Devious Raven Advisor.
For my costume: the dress came from a thrift store, the mask came from a party/costume store, I had the brooch already, and the sash is a strip of taffeta from a craft store.
For Alex’s costume: the mask was actually hand-made over the summer (!!), the coat was borrowed, and from what I remember, the rest came from various menswear and period-clothes stores. Though this isn’t pictured, they are actually wearing spats over their shoes!
